Could Leighton Meester Be The Next Pop Star?

I sure think so! Considering that her collaboration with Cobra Starship is #5 on iTunes singles. I know that we posted "Birthday" a while back, but I'm posting it again just so you don't forget how good this song is, along with her new song "Body Control."

WE'RE BACK!!!!! Well until we get bored again.
So its been a great beginning to the summer, school is over, a birthday extravaganza happened, becoming closer and closer to my top model body (LOL). But now its time to get back to the real world, and provide you with the stuff that really matters. Here at Wehope.Thatyouchoke we don't post just to post, we post what we like. So lets start this shit up! by telling you what I've been listening to lately. Let us make this a big installment of Artists.Tochokeon!
Pony Pony Run Run:
Since we are talking about summer, why not start out with a song that at least gets me in the spirit of summer. Pony Pony Run Run hail from France, and though they say their influences are Weezer, for some reason their sound reminds me of Phoenix. Check out their song "Hey You," and the sayCet Official Remix for "Hey You"
Hey You - Pony Pony Run Run
Hey You (sayCet Official Remix) - Pony Pony Run Run
GoldenGirls:
Like I said before, I've been trying to work on my top model body, and this song has helped. At the same time it has also made me have some impromptu dance sessions in my house. I truly can not stop listening to this song, that is the Designer Drugs' remix. The little synth/guitar solo makes me blush every time. BTW, if you're in the area of Minneapolis Designer Drugs are going to be here on June 30th at the 7th St. Entry. I'm probably going to go just to see them and Pase Rock.
Do The Criminal (Designer Drugs Punk Rock Remix) - GoldenGirls
Japandroids:
Two guys and they make all this sound? Not bad. Also not bad to get noticed by Pitchfork and to get their album on the "Best New Album List." The only thing I don't understand is how these guys are not getting any buzz, or at least I'm missing it. I guess they need to have a mental breakdown on stage at a large music festival like the Wavves to get some attention. Whatever, I like this album so much better then the Wavves album, so there is that. So "lets get to France so we can french kiss some french girls!" YAY!
Wet Hair - Japandroids
Heart Sweats - Japandroids
The Horrors:
I'm sorry but does this song (Mirror's Image) remind you of Morrissey? That is all I think of when I hear this song. I guess I could be wrong. Anyways, the Horrors have returned from the crypt to bring us a totally new sound. Which I like.
Mirror's Image - The Horrors
Telekinesis!:
I've been sitting on these guys for a while, and though the album isn't amazing it is pretty solid. So here are three songs that are at least worth listening to.
Coast Of Carolina - Telekinesis!
Tokyo - Telekinesis!
Imaginary Friend - Telekinesis!
Amanda Blank:
Last week I was lucky enough to see the Santigold show (thanks B), and Amanda Blank was one of her opening acts. Let me tell you she was good, and I can't wait for her new album coming out in July.
Might Like You Better - Amanda Blank
Florence And The Machine:
If you don't know about her, punch yourself. That is all I'm going to say. Except I love her version of "You've Got The Love," and if you watch Sex And The City you should recognize this song.
Dog Days Are Over - Florence And The Machine
You've Got The Love - Florence And The Machine
Little Boots:
So last but not least Little Boots, she is probably the most hyped artist of any of these groups, and for good reason. I will say that I am a little disappointed at the new album, but I think that it is one of those albums that I will grow to love. To me its just a little cheesy at spots, but I'm pretty sure I'll get over it. Here are the first two tracks off her new album "Hands."
New In Town - Little Boots
Earthquake - Little Boots
